On Sunday 10th April at 11am from across the district supporters of the Green Party and their district council candidates gathered at the historic Coaley Peak to launch their District Council election campaign.
Said Cllr Martin Whiteside (Green group leader, Stroud District Council) “from here we see the towns and villages of the vale, the rural farming communities, the Severn, our transport links ancient and modern. From here we can see all that is precious, our traditions and our industry, the countryside that the Green Party seeks to protect and secure, and the communities we serve with justice and equality.”

The election will be on Thursday May 5th, please remember to register and to vote. We’re hoping to retain our existing 6 councillors and gain at least a couple more, which will put us in a good position to influence decision-making for the district.
