At our party meeting last Tuesday we discussed the proposal for R4C (Resource Recovery, Refining and Recyling Centre): a system for mechanically sorting our “black bag” waste to extract recyclates and biomass to make into fuel pellets. The party has released the following statement In response to questions regarding it’s views on the proposed facility:
“The term Mechanical and Biological Treatment (MBT) covers a wide number of processes and Stroud District Green Party supports the treatment of Residual Waste via high end MBT as an alternative to GCC’s Mass Burn Incinerator (planned for Javelin Park).
“MBT and the subsequent production of Refuge Derived Fuel (RDF) is supported as an interim measure, as the Green Party supports the development of a circular economy and the elimination of waste creation.”
