Energy Efficiciency Grant Scheme to Launch in November

Stroud District Council has issued a press release announcing the expected launch of a tranche of new grants (under the “Green Deal” scheme) for home energy efficiency schemes. Local residents are advised to get ahead of the expected rush in applications so that they don’t lose out.

Green Councillor Simon Pickering, chair of the council’s Environment Committee, said:

“Specific details have yet to be released, but we expect the grants to be for energy efficient improvements such as loft insulation, boiler replacements, solid wall insulation and double glazing. These measures were available through the previous tranche of Green Deal funding which was scooped up within six weeks, with no one from the district being successful, so this time we want residents who may be interested to be ready for the rush.”

In the previous issue, grants were worth up to £7600 per household, however there are some conditions attached to the funding.
