At the meeting of Stroud District Council last night (Thursday July 21), the Green Party’s Cllr Catherine Braun was appointed as the council’s new Leader.
Cllr Braun said of her appointment: “I am proud to have been elected Leader of Stroud District Council. Through cross-party working over the past ten years, we’ve already delivered so much and we have an ambitious plan for the years ahead, which will include working with communities to build a more sustainable future and supporting local people through the cost-of-living crisis.
“I’m keen to work with all councillors to achieve the actions we’ve set out for the coming years: for community resilience and wellbeing, for the environment and climate, and to support the local economy and regeneration. By working together, we’ll make Stroud District an even better place to live, work and visit.”
