Resignation of Steve Lydon, SDC Leader

Steve Lydon, Labour leader of Stroud District Council, is to stand down for health reasons.

Martin Whiteside, leader of the Green Councillors on Stroud District Council commented:

“Steve Lydon has been an extremely dedicated and very hard working leader of the Council who has been fully committed to all parts of Stroud District. He has always been approachable and has a very good sense of humour. He will be a hard act to follow, and I am delighted that he is remaining as a District Councillor.

The Greens, as the second largest party in the cooperative alliance, look forward to working constructively with whoever the district councillors vote to replace him”
