Following a decision at Stroud District Council to pause plans for the introduction of Car Park Charges, Green Group leader Councillor Martin Whiteside said "I am delighted that the Labour councillors are now planning to 'think again' on car parking charges. Within the cooperation alliance, Greens have been encouraging an approach based on listening to local communities and finding ways to support vibrant high streets while also tackling issues like congestion, air polution, safe walking and cycling. We should be working in partnership with local town councils and traders to keep our market towns great. It is good to see common sense prevail."

Stroud District Council principal planning officer Conrad Moore was presented with a Natural England award for strategies drawn up for how Rodborough Common and the Severn Estuary cope with rising numbers of people living nearby.

In March 2017 local Stroud Green Party member Tim Davies, submitted a Freedom of Information request to Gloucestershire County Council for a report they had commissioned from Ernst and Young on the affordability of the Incinerator contract. When this request was refused Mr Davies appealed to the Information Commissioner, who has just released her decision in his favour. GCC now have 35 days to comply or appeal the decision.
