stroud valley
Martin Baxendale
Martin runs a small publishing company and is the proud grandfather to two lovely boys. Martin is chair of the Stroud Planning Committee, a vital role in protecting our green spaces in the Slad Valley. He is dedicated to making sure that Stroud’s special rural character is preserved. Martin led opposition to the sell-off of our Subscription Rooms to the private sector and opposed the investment of Stroud District Council pension money in fossil fuels. During lockdown Martin worked quickly to tackle problems with rural public footpaths. It’s this responsiveness and attention to detail that Martin brings to every part of the councillor role.
